Session 2: Linda Mazzitelli
The Power of Incorporating Social Media in Fundraising
The concept of “networking” has changed in the last few years with the rise of popular social networking websites like Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn. Because of the immediate and informal nature of these sites, there may be opportunities for nonprofits to interact with their constituents in new ways, build relationships, and persuasively get their mission and message across to their constituents engaged with these new media. This session will introduce the participants to some of the most popular networking sites, explain the differences between them, and explore the opportunities and challenges they present to fundraising.
