The fall meeting of the Virginia Chapter of APRA was held jointly with the APRA-Metro DC Chapter at the Red Cross Visitors Center & Museum in Washington, DC. Deborah Wallower, Presisdent of APRA-Metro DC Chapter presided. The agenda was as follows:
10:10 10:35 a.m. Keynote address - The Power of Research in a Competitive Fundraising Environment, by Marie Mattson of The Kennedy Center
10:45 12:15 p.m. - Presentation on Successfully Researching Todays Wealth by David Lawson of Prospect Information Network (P!N)
12:15 1:30 p.m. Lunch
1:30 2:00 p.m. Discussion of upcoming APRA National Conference to be held August 14-17, 2002 at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. Conference Committee roles were discussed.
2:00 3:00 p.m. Panel Discussion: Shop Talk, a discussion of all sizes of shops, with Jon Thorsen, Moderator. Panelists: Ryan Edmonds & Cheryl Wilmer of the American Red Cross; Rita Monner of the National Gallery of Art; Rumana Chaudhuri of U.S. Institute of Peace; and Anne B. Rhodes of the Smithsonian Institution.
3:15 3:45 p.m. FBI respresentative discussed intelligence and security research.
3:45 4:00 p.m. Wrap-up and adjournment.
There was no official business conducted by the Virginia Chapter of APRA.
